AnandBhaskaran is Head, Digital Marketing at bigbasket. He has wide-ranging experience in several verticals, starting with Finance where he spent the first 5 years of his career, then briefly in Education, and now E-commerce, starting with a stint at Urban Ladder and then at bigbasket from Jan 2015. His particular interest is marketing technology-led products and services to consumers.
At bigbasket, Anand manages the digital marketing team, including Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Search Engine Marketing (SEM), Social Media Marketing, ad networks and programmatic advertising. His main objective is to bring the analytical, technology and core aspects of digital marketing together to deliver value to the company. Post the Tyco Global corporate exposure he persuaded his entrepreneur skills and started doing land consolidation work as a business. He started a new organization called Agile under which a team of land acquisition experts was hired. He successfully did few land acquisitions and sold it to various Developers. Few of the projects executed and worth mentioning are a 100 Acresacquisition in Mysore to a Telecom Society, a 114acres acquisition on OMR road in Chennai to Hiranandani, another 100 Acres acquisition in Devanahalli to Hiranandani. With the increased land engagements specifically with Hiranandani finally he joined them as Director – Business Development, with the sole responsibility to lead the Sales and Marketing and to look for new land acquisitions and get all the plans sanction done from the necessary Statutory Authorities.
Few of the other Land transaction done under his leadership were 36 acres in Bannerghatta area, 10 acres in Electronic City area. He was mainly responsible to get all the pre- construction approvals from all the Statutory Authorities. Including overall plan sanction.
His Entrepreneur hunger to do a project on his own forced him to move on in the year 2012-13 and start a new company called Urbanize Developers to do developmental work. In this company he along with another partner acquired a 36 acres parcel in South of Bangalore in Begur Area with the help of a Funding Agency.
This project was planned and all the necessary pre-construction approval has been taken under his leadership. This project envisages development of 2300 apartments spread over 7 towers with a central green space of around 8 acres having a 1000 seater amphitheatre. This is aongoing project. It envisages a total construction of 3.5 million Sft. All approvals are in place and construction is about to begin shortly. The project is called as Song of the South. This project has been signed as a Joint Development Agreement with Prestige Developers who have successfully done the pre-launch.
Besides his passion for entrepreneurship, Anil loves to play Golf. He is also an avid music listener and an ardent admirer of art. He also pacifies his adventure streak by travelling to exotic locations across the globe.
