Campaign Name : Turning Passive Discovery into Active Evaluation: Volkswagen Taigun’s AI-Led Journey
The campaign was rooted in a clear behavioural insight. Most car buyers begin with generic searches and land on aggregator platforms, where they compare multiple models before forming intent. These comparison moments represent the most valuable influence opportunities.
Volkswagen partnered with CarWale to deploy PAAI, a native product level innovation designed to intercept users during competitor evaluation. The execution focused on maximising visibility, strengthening engagement, and optimising the entire browsing journey without disrupting user behaviour.
Taigun was surfaced across homepage trending slots, new car landing pages, and sponsored search results to create early visual impact. More importantly, it was consistently positioned as the first recommendation within the Similar Cars section on competitor pages, creatively reframing competitor browsing into Taigun discovery.
Interactive native formats elevated engagement. Within Explore by Features and Compare Cars modules, Taigun was auto selected and its strengths highlighted, allowing users to experience the product organically within their existing behaviour. Video carousels and a trivia based USP Challenge added depth, turning discovery into an engaging and memorable experience.
All placements were designed to feel platform native, maintaining visual harmony with CarWale. A proprietary AI and ML driven tracking layer captured user interactions across touchpoints, enabling continuous optimisation of creative formats and messaging.
The results validated the approach. Product discovery increased by 17 points versus benchmarks, while share of voice surged by 133%. User discovery grew from 23,000 to over 217,000 users, a 789% increase. Engagement scores doubled from 3 to 7, while competitor engagement declined by up to 2%. Taigun became the 5th most researched car in its segment, purchase drop off reduced by 6%, and competitor leads declined by up to 1%.
