2020 – 2021: The Road to Acceleration.
The past few years, especially since the beginning of the pandemic in 2020, businesses have been in an accelerated frenzy to onboard digital at all levels right from the first mile to the last. The significance of this acceleration can be gauged with the fact that a few years back, only a handful of business were truly digital while a large portion relied mostly on traditional models. The onset of the pandemic has toppled that notion and proved to be a catalyst in digital acceleration and onboarding. The acceleration in smart phone usage, internet penetration has enabled the next wave of half a billion users to hop on to digital for personal and business consumption.
2021 – 2022: The Road to Transformation
The period 2021 to 2022 will witness digital transformation of business at a large scale. All businesses of all sizes, viz. micro, small, medium, or large, having realized the indispensability of digital will make changes to their business models. By the end of this period, India will have majority of the businesses operating with digital as their backbone, actualizing the idea of Digital India in its essence.
2022 – 2025: The Road to Convergence
With the widespread acceleration to digital transformation of businesses happening, digital has become the backbone of businesses and consumers. This is leading to a convergence, in the areas of business operations, marketing and business delivery with digital at its centre. By the end of this transformation journey, the lines between the individual medium (viz. television, print, radio, digital etc.) will cease to exist. Business delivery will be the key and will attain a more organic model, independent of the individual medium.
