Shivam Ranjan is a renowned marketing leader in the mobile and telecom industry with over 18 years of diverse experience cutting across marketing and communications, business strategy and general management.
Shivam is currently the Marketing head for Motorola Mobility, Asia Pacific region – part of over USD 60 billion Lenovo group and one of the fastest growing mobile brands globally and in India since 2019. Shivam has enabled the brand to more than double its brand preference in the Indian market while also enabling the brand to be recognized as the Best Brand in India for two years in a row. During his tenure as the marketing leader for Motorola, the India business has witnessed consistent profitable growth in a highly challenging and competitive market with a consistent double-digit premium to market growth, year over year.
He has been instrumental in successfully launching some of the key innovations from Motorola in the Asia pacific region, including the world’s first clamshell phone – the Motorola razr, the world’s thinnest 5G smartphone – Motorola edge 30, the world’s first 200MP camera smartphone – Motorola edge 30 ultra and more.
Under his leadership, the brand has also seen strong growth in other key markets of Asia pacific region including - Australia, New Zealand, Japan and Korea.
Before joining Motorola, he was heading Marketing for Airtel’s fintech business and was responsible for setting up the brand positioning, social media presence as well as the end-to-end media and communication strategy. At Samsung India Electronics, he was leading various large product and brand marketing initiatives for their smartphones, tablets and services such as Samsung Pay, before that.
In 2022, Shivam Ranjan was recognized by various leading publications and Industry bodies for his contribution to the field of marketing and business. His recent industry recognitions include ‘40 under 40’ marketing leaders by BW Business World, ‘40 under 40’ leaders by Times Group, as well as the ‘Most Innovative Mar-tech Leaders’ by the World Marketing Congress.
